This test, which measures the ability to plan by predicting from executive functions, was first created by Eduardo Lucas in 1883. The test can be administered to all individuals aged 6 years and older.
In this test, there are three wooden sticks and three rings threaded on the first stick in order of height. The subject is asked to transfer the rings from the first stick to the last stick in the same order.
This test has two rules. The large ring can never overlap the small ring during the transfer and one ring can move at a time. The test is scored according to the number of moves made. The minimum number of moves to pass the test is 7 and the maximum number of moves is 27.
